I personally think it's really sad that Ireland has made such a change. A country so historic and beloved should stay as that I think. I would hate to see it become another United States.
Not that I don't love the country I live in, it's just that an old European country such as Ireland I picture to be so rural and beautiful... to go there and see mc- mansions and cul de sacs would be very disappointing. Also hearing that they look to Obama as their president is a little bit strange, can you say mini- America?
Back to my point however, I agree with the author Timothy Egan. What was Ireland thinking?
