Swine Flu

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/04/health/04flu.html?_r=1&ref=us

The article about the Swine Flu or H1N1 as it's known to scientists, covered the basics about the latest influenza. I felt like because there has been so much drama about the flu, that I would write a blog about it.
According to the article, all cases in the United States have been mild. There have been 226 cases in the United States out of the 898 cases worldwide. 59 of the 226 cases in the U.S. have all been at the St. Francis Preparatory School in Queens, New York.
Something that bothers me about the photo at the beginning of the article is the fact that they men are wearing masks. I guess if they want to feel more secure by wearing these masks, then they can do as they wish but i personally don't see the point. What are these masks protecting? the virus can still get through because of the holes in the masks, which are there so that people can breath. Therefore, a sneeze would spread to a person, with or without a mask.
